SIOMAI

    • 1 kilo ground pork
    • 1/2 kilo shrimp,peeled and chopped
    • 1 cup chives (sibuyas tagalog),chopped
    • 1 egg
    • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
    • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
    • 1 tsp minced ginger
    • 1 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp msg ( optional )
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • 1 cup chopped singkamas ( or water chestnuts )
    • 3 pcs Chinese mushrooms ,chopped
    • 2 tsp sesame oil
    • boiled quail eggs ( optional )
    • chopped carrots
    • wanton or molo wrapper

    Prepare steamer by putting oil at the bottom of the pan. Combine first 13 ingredients. Take enough of this mixture to form a 1 inch ball. Wrap in wanton wrapper, leaving the top open. If desired,boiled quail eggs may be put at the center of the siomai. Top with a pinch of chopped carrots for decor. Steam for 20 minutes.
